+ 39 Charter sail Trapani - Special America's Cup & Louis Vuitton Cup 2005

Team +39
Along with BMW Oracle racing team, Team +39 that launched the challenge for the 32nd America's Cup through Circolo Vela Gargnano has been the first official challenger. The challenge was accepted by Yacht Club "Société Nautique de Genève" in march 2004.

Lorenzo Rizzardi is head of +39 Syndacate and president of the challenging club, at the same time.

It is their first time in America's Cup. Luca Devoti, silver medal at the 2000 OLympic games for Class Finn is the team leader Devoti himsef has requested Ian Percy, golden medal before him, to be the steerman.

The team can count on other experienced champions, such as the Spanish Rafael Trujillo, Finn 2003 world vice champion, Andrei Simpson, British, third at Finn 2003 world championship, Pascal Rambeau, French and Star 2003 world champion and another French, Xavier Rohart, Star 2003 world champion.

Giovanni Ceccarelli, who partecipated in the 2002/3 America's Cup, is the planner and one of the most renowned yacht designers in Italy (Mascalzone Latino is his own project). Prof. Giovanni Lombardi teacher of aerospace engineering at Pisa University, will co-operate with him.

The Clan des Team won the Centomiglia, lake of Garda in 2003, after that it give birth to team + 39.
